Calcium Bentonite Clay
Calcium Bentonite is a type of natural clay primarily composed of calcium montmorillonite. Unlike sodium bentonite, it has lower swelling but higher absorption, making it excellent for detoxification, soil improvement, animal feed, and industrial filtration.
It is also called: Non-swelling bentonite, Southern bentonite, Fuller’s Earth (in some regions).
Uses
1. Agriculture: Calcium bentonite is widely used for: Soil conditioning and moisture retention, Improving nutrient-holding capacity, Carrier for fertilizers, pesticides, and micronutrients, Enhancing root growth, Organic farming applications
B. Animal Feed Industry: Mycotoxin binder (absorbs aflatoxins), Pellet binder, Improves gut health in cattle and poultry, Enhances nutrient absorption
C. Cosmetics & Personal Care: Cosmetic-grade calcium bentonite is popular in: Facial masks, Detox clay packs, Skin cleansing treatments, Acne control products, Bath powders
D. Industrial Applications: Bleaching earth for purifying edible oils, Wastewater treatment (adsorbs contaminants), Wine & juice clarification, Ceramic production, Paper manufacturing, Rubber and plastic filler
E. Environmental Uses: Oil spill absorbent, Heavy metal removal from water, Soil remediation and detoxification
F. Construction: Low-swelling fillers, Minor sealing or binding tasks, Mud preparation for shallow drilling
