Fly Ash
Fly ash is a fine powder that is a by-product of coal combustion in thermal power plants. It rises with flue gases and is captured using electrostatic precipitators. It is commonly used in construction materials, especially in cement and concrete, due to its pozzolanic properties.
Uses of Fly Ash
1. Construction Industry: Concrete & Cement, Fly Ash Bricks / Blocks, Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC), Plaster, Mortar & Grout
2. Infrastructure Projects: Embankment construction, Road base and sub-base layers, Mine filling, Airport runways, Soil stabilization
3. Industrial Applications: Ceramic products, Geopolymers, Glass manufacturing, Paints and coatings, Porous lightweight aggregates
4. Environmental & Agricultural Uses: Landfill liners, Waste stabilization, Mine reclamation, Soil amendment (improves texture in specific cases)
